Natural Hearing is dedicated to helping the local community become more informed
about hearing loss. Our expert Audiologists hold regular awareness campaigns in local Care
Homes and Community Centres educating people about hearing loss - its causes, the tell-tale
signs, the different types of loss that may occur, and how to communicate effectively with
people with a loss. We also provide Carers with in-depth training on dealing with hearing
aids including changing batteries, cleaning and general maintenance of a hearing aid. We
enable carers to have hands-on experience with the different types of hearing aids and learn
about the different parts so that they can provide better care for the users of hearing
aids.
We are focused on dealing with problems that people are facing on a daily basis
and our aim is to help people who have a hearing loss and their carers understand and deal
with it effectively and live their life happily and comfortably. Our question and answer
sessions allow us to interact with the community and solve real issues that users/carers are
facing. This in-turn helps us to improve and maintain our excellent standard of
service.
We provide free information packs during all our events providing a wealth of
information and useful links.
We provided in-depth training to Care Workers and allowed them to handle and
familiarise themselves with different types of hearing aids. We gave them a fascinating
opportunity to look inside their own ears using a modern video otoscope.

We listened to the problems Care workers face when dealing with residents with a
hearing loss and taught them techniques on dealing with them more effectively. The use of
hearing screeners gave carers an opportunity to test their own hearing at different
frequencies.
